I’ve been really busy lately so all I’ve managed so far is to start setting up all the plugins I use on my sites, today I’ve configured Twitter Tools so if things are working correctly this post should go out as a Tweet.

I still have a lot to do and a limited amount of time to get it all done, but eventually things should return to normal.

The Idiot

Why ? you might ask. Well being the Idiot I am I managed to completely mess things up. I was moving the site from my expensive dedicated server to a new more affordable server and instead of being smart and checking that the new site was going to work, I was a complete Idiot and deleted all the original files before checking.

You can probably imagine my horror when I realised that the only backup I had of the sites database and files was corrupt !!

So there you have it, by being an Idiot and not checking the backup archive was ok I have managed to basically throw away several years of work.

However, I can at least look on the bright side…. My site is now hosted on a new server (one that lets me easily update everything), I’ve learn’t a valuable lesson and I can start again.

I hope anyone reading this learns from my Idiot mistake and checks their backups are ok.
